Sunset Lei Making Tour

Enjoy a memorable lei-making experience warmed by glorious sunset vistas.  As you stroll among fragrant trees in full bloom, knowledgeable guides will provide instruction. Tour includes your leisurely stroll through our Rare Hybrid Plumeria Garden; followed by the opportunity to pick your own plumeria in our designated lei flower area for stringing your lei.

Come join us on a tour of our unique plumeria farm overlooking the North Shore of O’ahu.

Partially guided walking group tour includes strolling through the Rare Hybrid Plumeria Garden, learning about the various stages of plant growth at The Nursery and surrounding yourself with blossoming trees while picking your own flowers.

Private Tour

(4 people minimum)

Partially guided private tour includes everything in the standard Farm Tour plus visiting restricted areas by all-terrain vehicles. These exclusive zones feature many additional rare plumeria trees as well as some of the newest hybrids not yet seen by the general public.

Each person will be greeted with a plumeria lei and receive a copy of Jim Little’s book Growing Plumerias in Hawaii and Around the World.

Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for flower lovers, plumeria aficionados and those who want an intimate tour with just family and friends.

Tour FAQ’s

When are plumeria tours offered?
Plumeria tours at our farm are offered when the plumeria flowers are in bloom between April and October each year. In 2025, we are planning to offer tours starting April 1st and run through October 31st. 2025 Tour signups are available now. Click the Book Now link on the top right corner.

Where do we meet for the tour pickup?
Guests will now be able to drive directly to the farm for tours, look for the yellow gate in the picture to the right. Our farm access is secured so if you arrive and the yellow gate is closed, please pull to the side as our staff will be down to check you in and let you up. This is a shared common area so we ask for your kokua in ensuring that you aren’t blocking any entrances while waiting.

This is a farm atmosphere so do expect a little dust on your vehicles; any standard car can come up, you do not need specialized vehicles. If you have questions, please text us at 808-304-2777 or email us. Check in for the 9:15am tour will be at 9:00am, check in for the 11:00am tour will be 10:50am.

Please use 62 Kawailoa Drive, Haleiwa, HI 96712 for GPS navigation. Kawailoa Refuse Station is an established location that will get you on the correct road leading to our farm. Joseph Leong Highway is the only public route to get to Kawailoa Drive, please do not use Cane Haul Road. We will have signs at the entrance.

Do I need to be on a tour to visit the farm and gift shop?
Yes. Only people with a booked tour are able to visit the farm and gift shop due to our private access. For same day booking inquiries, we recommend texting us for availability. We do have cuttings and apparel available to ship, email us if you’d like to place an order.

Will the tour be cancelled due to weather?
No. Unless there is a hurricane or an extreme weather event, the farm is open and the tours will be running.

What should I bring for the tour?
Covered shoes, sunscreen, hydration liquids and a hat are highly recommended. This is an active farm so if you have any outdoor medical sensitivities we highly recommend you bring necessary medication with you.

Do you offer Kama’aina, Senior, or Military Rates for your group farm tours?
Yes. Kama’aina Rate, Senior (Ages 65 and older), and Military Rate with approx 20% discounts are offered for Group Farms Tours. When checking in, please show a Hawaii drivers license or Hawaii State ID for the Kama’aina Rate, and a valid military ID for the Military Rate. Note: Discounts are not offered for Private Tours.

What is your cancellation policy?
Full refund with at least 48 hour notice before the tour day and time if you call (808) 367-4119 and directly talk to us. If you are unable to reach us by phone, please email us at littleplumeriafarms@gmail.com. Also, full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Tour cancellations by guests with less than 48 hours or no-shows are non-refundable.

What part of the year are plumeria tours conducted?
The farm offers plumeria tours from April 1 through October 31 coinciding with the plumeria blossoming season. Private Farm Tours and group tours off-season, without plumerias in bloom, may be scheduled by special appointment through our contact page.
